Our number one goal is to promote the Upper Peninsula as a Destination Location for Overland Travelers. Our discussion threads on Expedition Portal for our U.P. Overland Annual Trips have, each year, ranked in the highest of all viewed discussion topics. This proves what we locals already know: People want to experience the U.P.

We need your support to offset costs associated with this trip. The Co-Founders of U.P. Overland will represent the Upper Peninsula at this event. Both Kristian and Tom have a deep respect for the U.P. region and the overall well being of its local economy. Two very capable promoters are representing the Upper Peninsula at one of the Worlds Largest gatherings of Overland Travelers.

Overland Expo is an annual gathering of Overland Travelers from around the globe, seeking information on new product releases, training in over 40 different classes and workshops, and a unique experience to meet amazing people. Check out the Overland Expo Details Page for more information.

How will the U.P. benefit from this trip?

We will be promoting the amazing adventure opportunities the Upper Peninsula has to offer. Our focus will be on promotion of the National Parks, Communities and Economies of the U.P. Our name is already internationally recognized for adventure in the Upper Peninsula. Our Annual Trips have proven to be incredibly popular, with 25 vehicles and close to 60 attendees in 2008 and 2009. Our 2010 Trip has grown to 40 vehicles and will have an estimated attendance of over 100 people. At Overland Expo 2010, we will be networking with synergistic entities that are eager to learn more about our isolated region. We will answer, face to face, questions that have been circulating our forums and the web for years. We are selling adventure in Upper Michigan.

So...how does this help the U.P.?
Tourism is one of the strongest revenue streams for Upper Michigan. U.P. Overland not only promotes tourism, but also the adventure activities that our area can accommodate. Everything from National Parks, Boat Tours, Fishing, Photography, History, and beyond. Our Interactive Adventure Forums allow us a special communication platform to discuss U.P. Adventure with travelers long before the first plans of a journey are made. Our forums highlight previous trips across the Upper Peninsula, with photos, videos and first hand traveler write ups. Overland Travelers are a a unique target demographic for any region. By capturing the attention of thousands of potential travelers, we are placing Upper Michigan on the list of "must see destinations" for countless travel itineraries!!
