This was one of the reasons that rally spectating got so heavily restricted in the US. Pat hits the big jump on Brockway mountain full throttle at 115 mph with large crowds on either side of the road. It was a close call, I know as I was standing in that crowd. Pretty exciting though!

I think his bounce was about as far as his jump! I remember hearing about that and someone posted that video on NASIOC. Pat is defintely a talented driver.

The bounce got him about 6 feet off the ground, all kicked over on two wheels and literally a foot from the line of spectators. We were super fortunate he was so talented because not many people would have had the nerve to keep his foot to the floor to save it.

Actually, you're welcome to spectate that section anytime you want. After that and a couple other incidents, we end the stage just before that particular jump. So they'll only be going about 25mph over it now.

I'm pretty sure we shortened the stage before the spectator rules went into effect.

Hey that's me standing right next to the HILL sign!

We were so close I could have reached out and touched his wheel (at head height) as he went by!

That's disappointing, why not just adjust the spectator area? My son and I have been going to sno-drift for the last couple years, and I used to watch WRC religiously when it was on Speed in the pre-reality TV days. I had thought about heading up for LSPR too this year.

They are overly careful so that they can continue to have the event in the U.P.

We'll see what this year is like when LSPR is no longer a Rally America event.

I know I'll still be there :meet:
