Just called the Munising Comfort Inn and the lady who answered the phone didn't know about us or the discount. She is going to talk to someone else to try to find out about it and said she will call me back. I figure most likely the info has filtered down through all the staff.

No. I haven't finalized it yet. Been waiting to hear on how many people need rooms.
I will see if they can just do it that way, with people calling in.
Do you know who you talked to?

Room update for Munising:

Ok, sorry Frank :)

The rate at the Comfort Inn in Munising is $85 / night + tax.
This is approximately a $25 discount.
Call in to: 906.387.5292 and ask for the "U.P. Overland" rate of $85/ night + tax.

Let me know ASAP if you have any issues.

-Tom

Is there a UPO group rate for Marquette? The wife is trying to decide what 'we' want to do.

No. We had one (a damn good one too) up until the Ore to Shore conflict.
We have a good camping spot in Marquette (some will recall the Harlow Lake area).
There are several options in that general area (and across the stream, up some washed out two track to other areas as well)
So, Kilroy (or anyone else), do you have any recommendations for protecting our dog from the bugs?
While mosquitoes are a big concern (West Nile, heart worm), I'm more concerned about ticks and Lyme disease. For that I will be using one of the products that is in reality a low level poison. For me, it's that or leave the dogs home.

Not sure of the best repellent for mosquitoes and black flies on dogs. Deet can be harmful to dogs skin. I will be keeping dogs inside during heaviest feeding times for mosquitoes, dusk and dawn.

Reservations made at the Comfort Inn. No problems with the discount.

Thanks Tom.
