Ah, the North Woods. The endless adventure, vast wilderness and all the history that comes with it.
You've always wanted to go, to just get lost up here.
Upper Peninsula Overland can show you Upper Michigan like you've never seen it before. This is A Different Kind of Northern Exposure.
Overland Touring: Upper Peninsula Overland began as a guided off road adventure across the Upper Peninsula. From this beginning we have dialed in our Overland Touring service. With our Annual Trips becoming a staple for previous years attendees, we realized that offering trips on demand for smaller groups of travelers needed strong consideration. The Overland Trip Service is completely customized to each group based upon interests. From general exploration and sight-seeing, to fishing, hunting or photography, U.P. Overland can build the custom trip you're searching for. Many of the services listed below are optional services that adventurers can consider while Eco-Touring through Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Take a minute to see what some of the attendees of UPO2008 and UPO2009 have to say about our trip on the Testimonials Page. Adventure Service Options that can be tailored to fit within your Overland Tour:
UPO Photography Tours (Fall Colors, Wildlife, Waterfall, etc)
It's no secret that Upper Michigan offers amazing opportunity to any photography enthusiast. Our photography tours are a personal favorite of UPO Co-Founder, Tom, having developed a strong love for photography at the age of 13. Working with Cory Genovese of "Photoyoop", the Upper Peninsula Overland photography options are endless and guaranteed to please. Whether your interest lies in Wildlife photography (Cory is drawn to birds) or Waterfalls & Landscapes, you will find yourself submerged in a photographers paradise on any Overland Tour. Each photo-tour involves client feedback and interests, resulting in careful planning and execution. Fall Colors are absolutely incredible in Mid-October, the waterfalls flow strongest in late spring. The historical sites of Upper Michigan shine in summer, with the small Upper Michigan communities bustling with Live Music and countless festivals. We love "shooting" the U.P. and can't wait to share it with you.

We are geared up so you can focus on the adventure, the experience and the memories. While "Overland Travel" is a major part of what Upper Peninsula Overland offers, we can seamlessly integrate a number of adventure activities.
Canoe Trips are a great way to experience nature. Whether it's a simple paddle down the river or an extended excursion involving camping, we are anxious to talk with you about planning a canoe adventure. Backpacking & Hiking is a given in the Upper Peninsula. With the proper planning explorers can spend as much time as possible adventuring on the trail networks throughout the U.P. Mine Tours are sure to provide an eye-opening look into a life most of us know little about. Mining is an important piece of Upper Michigan's history.
Other activities include: Inland Fishing, Historical Touring, Small Game Hunting, Mountain Biking, Scenic Touring, Small Game Hunting, Rock Climbing and more!
EPIC Snowmobiling in Upper Michigan
Snowmobiling is a way of life for Yoopers. If you grew up in the U.P. you likely knew how to ride a snowmobile around the time you learned to walk. Please check out our Snowmobiling Page for all the Upper Peninsula Snowmobiling information you've ever wanted. If you want to interact with other snowmobile enthusiasts, please check out
Snowmobile Central on the Forum.
Seasonal Adventure Services
During winter months we do not typically organize an "Overland Tour" to meet the adventure needs of our clients. We are not opposed to putting together a trip itinerary to explore the U.P. during winter but we are incredibly cautious about winter camping and the experience required to justify such a trip. Winter adventure in Upper Michigan is very rewarding, but also comes with increased risk. We ask that you Contact Us to discuss winter expedition details. We are an adventurous bunch, and with the proper planning and qualified interested parties...well...
